Typical gloomy/rainy days at school make me want to hide in my bed and watch endless movies. That certainly doesn't help me get anything productive done, so I need something to get me up and moving. Nothing makes me want to go out and about more than a great outfit, so I figure there's no reason to hold back my cute threads on a rainy day. On any rainy day, wellies are a must, so I threw on my pair of black Hunter boots. I decided to layer a denim shirt under a cozy sweater for warmth. For a bit of color pop, I wore my red jeans-which I absolutely love. Some may call me crazy for wearing such a statement necklace with a pair of rubber rain boots, but I call it balance. Why not add a bit of spice into such a casual outfit? Plus, I think it compliments the outfit really well and adds a bit of color contrast. A great factor of inclement weather is getting to use an umbrella! Some hate them, but I treat them as just another accessory. I love my leopard umbrella (especially with this outfit) and believe me, it comes out in full force on these rainy days. I figure when there is no sun to add happiness to the day, we should shine bright with joy of feeling good in a cute outfit! Check out my outfit details below!

The Best Time to Play Dress Up: Halloween!
Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year because I get to go back to days of playing dress up and get to pretend to be someone completely different from myself! These are my Halloween costumes from 2011 to 2013. I have quite the obsession with being some of my absolute favorite celebrity icons. I think what I like most about my iconic costumes is the fact that I barely spend any money on them! The Audrey Hepburn costume was extremely easy because all you need is a black dress, gloves, and some awesome jewelry. Although it is nearly impossible to look as flawless as Miss Hepburn, I really embraced the classiness of the outfit. I paired my black ensemble with my Grandma's gorgeous jewels (special thanks to my mom for trusting me with them). The only thing I felt I was missing was a jeweled crown. The next costume is the one and only Slash from Guns N' Roses, one of my favorite bands due to my love of Rock and Roll. This is probably my favorite costume...ever. It was so easy and such a blast to get to feel like a true rocker. I thrifted a jean jacket and cut the sleeves to get the worn out denim vest Slash is known for. I borrowed a rocker chic tank from a friend and paired it with some leather skinnies and combats. I got the hat, guitar, glasses and FAKE cigarette from a Halloween store for about 10 bucks to complete the look. Like I said, this is my favorite costume ever. This year I decided to take on my fellow 'Material Girl', Madonna. This costume was actually sold all together at a Halloween store, so it took care of all the basic essentials for me. I threw a beauty mark and some lipstick on and wah-lah, I'm Madonna. I would have really liked to put more of a personal twist on this costume in order to really nail it, but I was extremely late on the whole costume preparation this year-you win some you lose some. It is so easy and cheap to be iconic people for Halloween and I can't wait to see who I come up with next year!
